THE NATIONAL Government’s (NG) budget deficit widened in May amid subdued spending and a drop in revenues due to the early remittance of dividends by government-owned and controlled corporations (GOCCs).
In a statement on Thursday, the Bureau of the Treasury (BTr) said the budget deficit in May ballooned by 36.73% to P198.5 billion from a year earlier.
