The first installment of BusinessWorld In-Depth’s “Emerging Cities” series looks into the potential of Cebu City, the “Queen City of the South,” as a smart and sustainable city. Cebu City has long been envisioned as a smart city as it was chosen to be among the 26 pilot cities in the ASEAN Smart Cities Network in 2018 and, more recently, as Mayor Michael Rama aims for the city to be as advanced as Singapore.
