Amid its full reopening post-pandemic, the Philippine economy rebounded in 2022, growing at a pace not seen in more than 40 years, despite the inflationary pressures and supply chain issues caused by recent geopolitical tensions. This edition of Top 1000 Corporations in the Philippines reflects such rebound, with the combined gross revenues of these companies listed rising by more than a fifth to P16.68 trillion, faster than the 17.5% growth recorded in the previous edition. This edition also looks into the steps businesses can take to maximize the opportunities given by the apparent economic recovery to become sustainable — from dealing with the challenges of a “sachet economy” and realizing a sustainable agriculture industry, to wielding renewable energy and education technology to address existing and even worsening concerns.
